Dear (former) student of the Intercultural Communication (IC) Programme
at the University of Jyväskylä
This autumn we intend to participate in a conference held in Turku on:
TEACHING INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION IN FINNISH HIGHER EDUCATION (HE)
11th November 2011
In our research paper & presentation we aim to investigate former and current Intercultural communication
students’ perceptions of their studies in the IC-programme based on a survey. Therefore we are interested
to find out, for instance:
-How you employ your IC-knowledge & skills in your personal and professional lives
-What perceptions do you have of the IC-programme - image - status - role in HE
-How would you (current and former students) like to influence (change) the programme?
As you know, the IC Master’s Programme has existed at the University of Jyväskylä (JYU) for 14 years
under various names.
The Master’s Programme is currently being evaluated and re-designed.
It seems,
then that now is a good time to assess the perceptions of current and former student of the IC-programme
and chronicle the affects of such a programme on their personal and professional lives.
Your participation is voluntary and the data are anonymous and confidential.
You can access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ICMastersProg
Please, respond by 18th September 2011.
If you know other current and prior students of the IC-programme
at JYU, feel free to forward this message, or contact us.
Thank you for your cooperation!
